The transducers of this product series are suitable for compression loads – with 20 to 100 ton Full Scale – that can be supplied in:

  • version without (mV/V) amplifier
  • with voltage or current amplifier
  • with built-in digital electronics
  • with characterization in N

They are extremely precise, with an attractive price, for general use, for industrial automation applications, for fixed and mobile plant systems.

They are used with loads concentrated in one point or also for loads distributed over multiple supports, such as for weighing silo or weighing platforms, or for monitoring the force transmitted by actuators or for indirect measurements of the torque of a lifting motor/winch, measuring the reaction forces.

The transducers of this product range are characterized by a low profile, they are precise and attractively priced, and can be used in all applications featuring a traction/compression load perpendicular to the sensor fastening plane, aligned with its measuring axis, in compression. These transducers are protected against atmospheric agents by silicone protectors that are further protected by the measuring body when the transducer is installed in the installation site. The point of the load application is convex so that, when used the corresponding load adapter, it adapts to any load disruption and limiting its effects.

Inside the measuring body there may be only the strain gauge bridge, possibly in a redundant configuration for critical security applications, or an analog amplifier or high-resolution digital acquisition interface with programmable AD converters with a maximum 20 or 24 bit resolution.

Should the transducer be requested with built-in electronics, the following options are available:

  • Output in voltage0-5 V or 0-10 V
  • Output in current0-20 mA or 4-20 mA (2 wires)
  • RS485 Digital output  with Modbus protocol(RTU/ASCII)
  • CAN Digital output, CANopen protocol (DS 406)

The digital electronics can be easily configured, including by the Client, in such a way as to allow an easy utilization within the data network that is inside the machine. The use of the digital electronics with a Field Bus Module makes it possible to have an effortless connection to the intelligent measurement systems inside the IT infrastructure (in conformity with that indicated for Industry 4.0), with the advantage of disposing of a programmable high-resolution converter, that is directly built into the transducer, thus being able to have the maximum immunity to electrical disturbances and disposing of measurements already expressed in the mechanical units involved. There are also advanced measuring functions, that make it possible to set the sampling frequency, to apply a possible linearization for the conversion of the measurements into the mechanical units involved (32 characterization points that can be memorized in EEprom) and an auxiliary filter.  Using a digital transducer moreover facilitates its interchangeability with other load cells, in order to use the “digital cell + display instrument” measurement chain on a broad spectrum of applications and measurement loads, without having to worry about the updating of the display calibration. This feature is greatly appreciated in portable applications or on-board machine installations; where, in addition to high measuring precision, a high flexibility in use is also required.

The main characteristics of the digital amplifiers are as follows:

  • A/D (Delta Sigma) programmable converter: 24bit max
  • Bandwidth: from 0 to 1.94 up until 390 Hz (-3dB, in function of the updating frequency set up for the measurement by the A/D converter)
  • Baud Rate: from 1,200 to 115,200 baud (RS485) or up to 1Mbaud (for CAN networks)
  • Transducer network ID that is freely definable, digitally
  • Operating temperature: from -20 to +70°C
  • Rh < 95%

In addition to the aforementioned advantages of the digital electronics integrated into the transducer, you should also consider a greater simplicity in the layout of the electrical connections, which makes it possible to aggregate a considerable number of units on the same digital transmission line, moreover drawing advantages from the functionality of the intrinsic diagnostics in the bus of the chosen field.
